Puligny-Montrachet, Sylvain Bzikot
£56.00
Sylvain Bzikot makes wines with real personality. The 13.2 hectare estate was originally created by his grandparents at the beginning of the 1940s. They arrived (as Polish immigrants) in Meursault to work in the vineyards as their friends and relations did before them. After a few years working in the fields, they began as “metayer fermier” and subsequently bought a few tiny parcels of land which they planted progressively.
This Puligny-Montrachet has grace and refinement but also richness and density, seductive aromas
of fresh butter, hazelnut and fresh fruits and also a lovely citrus freshness. Real quality here!
Great for special occasions, posh fish dishes (or ready-meal fish pie...?), and generally treating yourself to something truly special.
Chablis 1er Cru Beauroy 2018, Agnes & Didier Dauvissat
£28.95
Although the Dauvissat name is one of the most historic in Chablis, Agnes & Didier only began winemaking in 1989. This is a classic version of Chablis from the 1er Cru vineyard of Beauroy. Elegant and mineral with some richness coming through, it is the perfect accompaniment to light salads as well as shellfish.
Semillion, Botanica, Stellenbosch, South Africa – Organic
£26.50
Tiny production Semillon from Ginny Povall at Botanica Wines based near Stellenbosch, South Africa. Ginny is a self-taught winemaker from New York; sounds ominous but she is now regarded as one of the top winemakers in the Cape. This Semillon has lovely, lemony flavours with a delicate waxy texture and a hint of toast on the finish. Different and delicious; perfect with sushi or other light fish dishes.
Pouilly-Fuisse, Chateau de Chaintre, Burgundy, France
£25.95
This estate is owned by the Paquet family who have been making wine in Pouilly-Fuissé since 1957. Yannick Paquet is in charge here and he makes the wine in a very fresh style, with only a small portion of the wine seeing any oak ageing, just enough to give a little richness but not for oaky flavours. The fruit is all handpicked, and the vineyards are farmed organically. Delicious with poached salmon or simple grilled fish dishes.

Valencay, Sebastien Vaillant
£14.95
This has long been one of our most popular wines, a delicious blend of Sauvignon Blanc with a dash of Chardonnay. The Chardonnay adds a lovely texture and a tiny bit of weight to the wine but it still retains that classic Loire Sauvignon character. Sebastian Vaillant is a great winemaker and this is a great value alternative to the neighbouring wines of Sancerre and Pouilly-Fume.
