Chateau Capbern
£32.00
A beautifully balanced wine. It has all the hallmarks you would expect from a St Estephe, with charming cassis fruit and structured but not drying tannins. It is drinking very well now but could also be laid down for many years.

‘Manolibera’, Muralia
£16.50
Muralia is a wonderful little winery in the Maremma region of Tuscany (near Montalcino but nearer the coast). It was set up in 1997 when Stefano and Chiara Casali fell in love with the land and moved down from Milan. They are committed to organic farming and everything here is done by hand. The passion and attention to detail really shines through in the wines; they are pure and vibrant expressions of their beautiful vineyards.
Manolibre is an light, unoaked blend of Sangiovese (50%), Cabernet Sauvignon (25%) & Merlot (25%), which really sings with bright red fruits and aromatic herbs.
If you make good pizza at home, then you need to try this - the perfect wine. Also great with tomato and meat pasta dishes (obviously...)
Estate Malbec, Colome

Monbazillac ‘Jour de Fruit’ 37.5cl, Domaine de l’Ancienne Cure
£11.00
Monbazillac has a long history (known as early as the 14th century) and is one of the world’s great sweet wines; similar in style to Sauternes but usually offering better value for money. Here, Christian Roche is one of the best winemakers and his attention to detail and organic practices shine through in the wines.
Light and juicy, with the sweetness balanced by good acidity, this is a great introduction to dessert wines; perfect as an all-rounder with a cheese board or with fruit desserts.
Bardolino, Monte del Fra
£13.95
Monte del Fra is a great family winery based just south of Lake Garda in the Veneto region, north-east Italy.
Run by the Bonomo family since 1958 and now in the hands of brothers Eligio and Claudio, it is one of the most progressive and quality-minded producers in the area.
The Bardolino zone lies to the east of Lake Garda and these once-popular wines have been overshadowed by bigger and more 'impressive' wines of neighbouring Valpolicella. However, this wine shows just how good they can be when care is taken in the vineyards and in the winery - Monte del Fra certainly do that.
An unoaked blend of Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara, this is a delightfully light, juicy and vibrant wine with enormous gluggability! Bags of fresh cherry and strawberry flavours and very light tannins combine to make a wine that is so easy to drink. On hot days it's really good served chilled, straight from the fridge - just watch out you don't drink it too quickly!
Perfect for outdoor drinking, picnics, lunches of cheese and salami, anti-pasti, a mid-week bowl of pasta with tomato sauce, good pizzas...you get the idea.
Henschke ‘Keyneton Euphonium’
£42.95
Available to pre-order for delivery/collection from Thursday Oct 7th66% Syrah/Shiraz , 19% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 5% Cabernet FrancThe Henschke family have been making wine at their estate in the Eden Valley since 1868. Fifth-generation winemaker Stephen Henschke took over running the winery in 1979. Through a combination of great viticulture from Prue, named ‘Outstanding Viticulturalist 2020’, who is at the forefront of re-introducing native plants into their vineyards to improve biodiversity, and winemaking from Stephen, they have built upon their inheritance and turned this traditional producer into one that is celebrated all around the world.Keyneton Euphonium is a beautiful composition of Shiraz from up to 50-year-old vines growing in the Eden and Barossa Valleys, blended with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc from selected vineyards in both regions, some of which were planted by Cyril Henschke at his Eden Valley property in the 1960's. The Barossa hills village of Keyneton, pioneered by pastoralist Joseph Keynes in 1842, was a musical and cultural focus for the early settlers, and was home to the Henschke Family Brass Band, founded in 1888. It featured wind instruments such as a B flat euphonium, a large brass wind instrument, which has been lovingly restored and remains in the Henschke family. While the Hill of Grace and Mount Edlestone Shiraz fetch high prices, i think this wine is the jewel in the Henschke crown; The depth of fruit and complexity is incredible and it is affordable!A wine for big steaks, roast beef and classy barbecues!
Sangiovese, Il Civettaio
£19.95
Il Civettaio is a beautful farm in the rolling hills of the Maremma region (coastal Tuscany).
Everything here is done organically, and by hand; the owner/winemaker Gregorio is truly passionate about his farm and produces wines that really encapsulate the vivid, wild and beautiful landscape of the Maremma.
This 100% Sangiovese is full-bodied, like a wilder cousin of the posh folk up in Chianti; It also has some of the savoury characteristics from nearby Montalcino but without the price accompany it. A wine of real character and the perfect wine for pasta with meat sauce (wild boar if you have any lying around, otherwise 'British Bolognese' works fine..).
Pinot Noir, Heirloom Vineyards
£18.95
Heirloom Vineyards make wines from various regions, carefully selecting grapes from organically farmed vineyards. This Pinot Noir from Adelaide Hills, is a great example of really well-made Australian Pinot. It has the perfect balance between rich, red fruit flavours and more serious savoury characteristics. It has a long, juicy finish and exudes quality that would put many a more expensive Pinot to shame.
If you are a Pinot Noir fan, you can drink this with just about anything (I do), but it goes particularly well with grilled lamb chops!
Astrolabe Marlborough Pinot Noir
£25.95
Simon Waghorn of Astrolabe Wines is one of New Zealand's most respected winemakers; his wines are always balanced, with great depth of flavour.
This Pinot Noir has more complexity than many from Marlborough, with a subtle savoury edge to the rich creamy red fruit flavours.
Delicious with rack of lamb or soft cheeses such as Baron Bigod.
