An awesome mixed 6-pack showcasing some the recent additions to our range with a couple of old favourites. All really, really good wines, with a great saving.

– Beaumont Chenin Blanc, Bot River, South Africa – Our most gluggable white. A firm staff favourit

– Domaine Grand Veneur Cotes du Rhone Reserve Blanc, Rhone, France – Roussanne/Viognier blend from this top organic         Chateauneuf producer

– Cullen Sauvignon/Semillon, Western Australia – one of Australia’s leading (organic/biodynamic) wineries. A bordeaux blend amongst the best in the world.

– Frankland Estate Shiraz, Western Australia – A very European style of Shiraz (Syrah); with a bit of bottle age, this is drinking REALLY well.

-Bolgheri Rosso, Michele Satta, Tuscany, Italy – Classic Bolgheri; Sangiovese and Cabernet combine beautifully.

– Cotes du Vivarais (Rhone), Domaine Gallety, Rhone, France – A hidden gem from an obscure corner of the Rhone Valley. Lots going on here.

Tolpuddle Pinot Noir

Wine, Australia, Red Wine
£66.00
The Tolpuddle vineyard was purchased by Martin Shaw and Michael Hill Smith in 2011. It is situated in the Coal River Valley, in Tasmania’s south-east corner. First planted in 1988 by Tony Jordan and Garry Crittenden, it has since established a reputation for growing exceptional quality grapes, with the focus on Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The cool but relatively dry climate allows the grapes to ripen slowly in autumn, without the disease pressure that heavy rainfall can bring. The vineyard took its name from the Tolpuddle Martyrs, who were transported to Australia in 1834 for starting an agrarian union in Tolpuddle in Dorset. The leader of the group, George Loveless, served part of his sentence working on a property near Richmond called GlenAyr, part of which is now the Tolpuddle Vineyard. This is certainly one of Australia's best Pinot Noirs with this vintage rated 99/100 on jamessuckling.com. Elegant and balanced but with great complexity and depth. Stunning wine! Perfect Pinot for a special occasion. On my list for Christmas Day this year!

Verdejo, Duquesa de Valladolid, Rueda

Wine, Spain
£10.95

Duquesa de Valladolid is Bodegas LAN’s project in Rueda, the Spanish region which is currently in vogue for its crisp and aromatic white wines. Winemaker Olga Tormo is an expert in handling aromatic grape varieties and has used her winemaking know-how to elevate the bright tropical aromatics and subtle herbal notes of Verdejo to a new level.

The Verdejo grapes are grown in vineyards situated at 600 to 800 metres above sea level in the North of the Rueda appellation and benefit from a wide diurnal range, with warm days counteracted by cool nights. This slows the ripening and ensures that the grapes accumulate great aromatic flavour intensity while retaining a crisp and vibrant acidity. Harvesting at night and a cool ferment in stainless steel ensures that the freshness and aromatics of the grapes are preserved in the wine. Following fermentation, a brief period of ageing on the lees adds textural complexity. The result is a clean, crisp and bright wine, bursting with aromas of passionfruit, freshly cut grass, green apple, lemon, lime and pineapple.

Great value wine and a good all-rounder; perfect to have on hand when the sun shines or when friends pop round. Very good!

Vallisto Malbec

Argentina, Red Wine, Wine Offers
£21.00
Vallisto is one of the most exciting projects to come out of Argentina in recent years. Pancho Lavaque is on a mission to show the world what makes the remote and beautiful Cafayate Valley in Salta in the far north of Argentina, so special. Discovering long-forgotten vineyards with very old vines and often rare grape varieties. This single vineyard Malbec from represents pretty much everything you need to know about what makes Cafayate so good and so special. For those who like their Malbec painted with a decadent splash of inky purple fruit this delivers in spades. A special wine for the best, and biggest, steak you can find. Grilled over coals would be perfect!

Sancerre, Gerard Fiou

Wine, France
£23.95
This small domaine was one of the first to modernise in the region of Sancerre. The vines are planted on the rocky silex soils and the resultant wine takes a little time to show its true colours. But when it does, it is impressively pure and expressive of the flint from which it was born. Give it time to open up in the glass.Very pungent elderflower and gooseberry fruit, but there’s an edge of ripe pear and pear-drop, with a little suggestion of a more tropical fruit character. Very crisp, clean and racy on the palate with a core of orchard fruits that is very pure and focused through the mid-palate, with melon and a tangy apple acidity on the finishA great example of Sancerre from a great organic producer. A perfect partner for British goat's cheese such as Sinodun Hill and Driftwood. Also great with light fish dishes and smoked salmon.

Charles Heidsieck Brut Reserve NV

France, Sparkling Wine, Wine Offers, Gifts & Hampers
£51.00
Charles Heidsieck is one of the great names of Champagne and produces some of the finest of all champagnes. Founded in 1851 by Charles-Camille Heidsieck, the original 'Champagne Charlie', the foundation of its modern fame rests on the unrivalled quality of its wines, which receive countless awards and accolades year after year. The grapes for the Brut Réserve are sourced from 60 different ‘crus’ across the region; fermentation and ageing of the base wines takes place primarily in stainless steel to preserve freshness; it is a blend of 40% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Noir and 20% Meunier, including at least 40% reserve wines, the average age of which is 10 years; and finally, the Brut Réserve is aged in bottle on its lees for at least three years prior to release. This really is one of the best NV wines coming out of Champagne! Beautiful.

Ataraxia Pinot Noir

Wine, South Africa
£34.95
Ataraxia was founded by Kevin and Hanli Grant in 2004 near the coastal village of Hermanus in the Hemel-en Arde region.Hemel-en-Aarde is Afrikaans for “heaven and earth” and the claim is justified. The estate sits on a particularly heavenly stretch of land beneath a lofty peak of the Babylon’s Tower mountain range. In addition to its unrelenting beauty, Ataraxia is home to some of the most spectacular terroirs South Africa has to offer.Almost two decades on, they are associated with crafting wines of incredible finesse, balance and depth; wines that proudly hold their own on the international wine stage. This Pinot Noir is my favourite discovery of the year! Perhaps my favourite wine in our range! The wine has the perfect balance of rich fruit and light structure alongside the most gorgeous perfume.A stunning wine, that pairs perfectly with soft, mould-ripened cheeses such as Baron Bigod.
