Rathfinney Estate Brut Rose 2017
63% Pinot Noir , 19% Chardonnay, 18% MeunierThis family-owned estate was established in 2010 by Mark and Sarah Driver, with the first vineyards being planted in April 2012. Rathfinny’s estate vineyard now extends to over 93 hectares in the South Downs, just three miles from the Channel. Lying on a south-facing slope, their estate vineyard is predominantly planted with Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Meunier and benefits from a semi-continental maritime climate and free-draining chalk soils, providing the ideal conditions to ripen grapes for sparkling wine. Rathfinny uses only estate-grown fruit for their four traditional-method sparkling wines and each of their wines is produced and labelled as a vintage wine.Rathfinny’s Classic Cuvée displays vivid aromas of grapefruit, red apple and brioche on the nose. The palate has real focus with zesty acidity tempered by the wine’s creamy texture and rich, biscuity notes, leading to a refreshing and moreish finish.Very elegant and dangerously drinkable - perfect with Strawberries in the garden.
Champagne Geoffroy Expression Brut NV
Stretching over 14 ha of vines in the heart of Vallée de la Marne, Champagne Geoffroy is renowned for Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier focused champagnes of incredible freshness and authenticity. Since the 17th century, the family has been growing grapes but only in the 1950s did the family start vinifying their grapes.
50% pinot meunier, 40% pinot noir, 10% chardonnay from Cumières, this is the classic non-vintage expression of Geoffroy’s house style. The rich fig and red apple fruits create a compelling contrast with crisp acidity and tight grapefruit and lemon notes. Three years on lees makes for generous maturity, reinforcing honey and fruit cake spice and a deliciously creamy texture. Very classy Grower Champagne.

Easy drinking and perfect for English garden drinking!
Avus Garganega Frizzante, Tessari
Tessari is a great little winery in the Soave area, producing quality wines organically.
This wine is a single variety Garganega ‘col fondo’, the traditional way, used before sparkling modern techniques came along.
The wine was bottled by hand and kept in the cellar; it has not been filtered, so there is a slight deposit made from natural yeasts produced by fermentation.
If, you like, you can un-cap it gently and decant it off the sediment but like a bottle-fermented beer, there's no harm in it.
It has the typical almond notes of the Garganega grape, with a slight bready flavour. Light, refreshing and delicious.
