Chorey-les-Beaune, Domaine Tollot-Beaut
£36.95
Domaine Tollot-Beaut has sat modestly in the centre of Chorey-lès-Beaune since it was set up by the Tollot family in the 1930s. Nathalie Tollot, who runs the property with her uncles and cousins, is a most welcoming of hosts and her wines are amongst the most consistent in Burgundy. There are 28 hectares in parcels throughout Chorey, Savigny, Aloxe, Beaune and then Corton-Bressandes, Corton and Corton-Charlemagne. The soils have a slightly higher clay content generally than the rest of the Côte d’Or, and the vines are pretty old with deep roots, resulting in wines with an attractive breadth of flavour and lots of depth. They also age well developing very rewarding dried fruit and spice notes within a few years.
This is really good Red Burgundy! Without breaking the bank, it delivers quality and real depth of flavour. Some richness and fleshy wild strawberry lead to a long, satisfying finish.
Perfect with roast game birds or pink roast lamb with redcurrant.

Perfect for BBQ's and a really versatile wine to have on hand, complementing pizza, meaty pasta, pork chops...
